I mean the title quite literally. A new leader for Greenpeace was recently interviewed and I found the article in the New York Times. (…)
I typed the title without realizing the pun initially, so sorry for those who groaned when they read that. I have seen repeatedly that many companies are using bamboo in an effort to be more eco-friendly. This recent article that I read talked about a company called Incase that has created an iPhone case made out of bamboo pulp. (…)
My fiance would probably have many things to say on this article I read about NASCAR's initiatives to be more environmentally friendly. There are many easy ways for a sport that involve vehicles that get five miles to the gallon to improve their standings. (…)
This article from the New York Times talked about the greening of a small town called Greensburg in Kansas after a tornado had destroyed the area two years prior. (…)
Now, I am not that picky when it comes to fashion but some people are, especially when it comes to going green. Many stores across the country now carry reusable shopping totes that can be purchased for a small fee and help rid the planet of plastic and paper bags. I do not mind my plane green bag that is large and can be cumbersome. For those who do mind, a woman named Annette Ferber Adelman has a solution for you. (…)
I just stumbled upon an article about the company Goodwill going green. I had not considered it as another fantastic program that promotes green living. As the author of the article points out, Goodwill has been going green long before it was popular. (In case you are not familiar with the company, it works by accepting donations of household goods and clothes. The items are then sold in stores at low prices where the profits are put to a good cause.)
A hand full of Goodwills in Louisiana are taking the green initiative further. One method is to collect electronics such as computers, which normally is not done by Goodwill. The article did not specify what would be done with these electronics but I can imagine that they will be sold or given to needy families in the area. (…)
I was excited to realize that the famous search engine Google is a large supporter of searching for green energy. Reuters interviewed Bill Weihl, Google's green energy leader. (…)
Governor Mitch Daniels traveled to China to help promote green collared jobs (jobs that deal with sustainability). He addressed, specifically, businesses and government leaders in Shanghai. (…)
This article was part of a two article series on Malaysia and the country's efforts to go green. I would assume the author has a decent understanding of not only the green movement but also businesses from what the article put forth. (…)
I'm in a slightly cynical mood right now and found this article interesting. It discusses the fantastic idea of using green cleaning products in the home. A company called Green Maids Cleaning is environmentally conscientious when they clean other people's homes. (…)
I like this article for many reasons. First, it highlights a business in Tampa Bay called REAL Buildings that creates homes that are more environmentally friendly. Second, it provides some ideas for other who are also interested in going green. (…)
I found this article interesting. It was submitted by the company, about the company called Global Enfant. This is just one of many examples of the growing interest in becoming greener consumers. (…)
